Restoration & Rewilding: A Conversation with Paddy Woodworth and Padraic Fogarty
Two of Ireland’s most articulate and interesting proponents of nature conservation share insights and discuss how strategies like ecological restoration and rewilding are working here, and what we might learn from international practice. Pádraic Fogarty is advocacy officer with the Irish Wildlife Trust and favours reintroducing wolves to Ireland as part of an ambitious rewilding programme. His book ‘Whittled Away’ was published in 2018. Paddy Woodworth is an author, journalist and regular contributor to the Irish Times. His 2013 book ‘Our Once and Future Planet: Restoring the World in the Climate Change Century’ explores the rapidly growing role of restoration as a global conservation strategy to engage with the climate and biodiversity crises. Hosted by alan Moore of Suircan Community Forum.
