Bug Cart with Professor Bombus Trochanter
Bugs alive! Miraculous mini beasts! From the steaming jungles of Borneo to the fly-buzzed dung pats of Clogheen, Professor Bombus Trochanter and his Travelling Bug Cart have boldly gone where sissies fear to tread in search of fascinating phasmids, wonderful weevils and incredible insects of every description.
Be sure to flag down the Professor as he combs the Applefest sites for six-legged specimens at the Urban Orchard on Friday, Apple Fair on Saturday and Blueway Sunday. Wear feelers or wings for the warmest welcome, an edible entomological reward and an expert diagnosis from the Prof of your inner insect just waiting to fly!
Liz Weir Storyteller in Residence
From Armagh, Liz will be in residence for 4 days delighting us with her huge repertoire of stories from Ireland and around the world where apples feature prominently! She will be visiting 2 schools, performing at the Main Guard on Friday evening and hosting a storytelling circle (free) for local aspiring and experienced storytellers on Wednesday 25th at 6pm at the Clonmel library.
Appletown by The Cedartowns
Local and well-loved band The Cedartowns have written a bespoke song for Applefest, evoking the sights, sounds and memories of Clonmel. We are very proud to call this the sound of our festival!
