Annie Hogg Exhibition – All the rivers were female
Location: The Narrow Space Gallery, Mitchel Street
Date: Friday 24th September @ 6pm. Exhibition runs until the 2nd of October.
Using materials from the Comeraghs and Clonmel’s riverbank, making and processing pigments from the waters of the Suir, these works take on a timescape that spans from deep time up along to our now. They have become a reflection on geological time, representing an age when rivers and mountains were being formed.
In human time, there was an old understanding that all the rivers were female, save but one. In their waters, the rivers held knowledge and stories, our songlines.
